Taras Mekeda: boy who was deaf for ten years healed in Uganda

Evangelist Taras Mekeda told about his trip to Nairobi, Uganda, where God miraculously healed the boy who was deaf for ten years. Below you can read the full report:

“We are blessed and privileged to greet you in Jesus name back from Nairobi. We've just got back home last night after 14 hours of traveling by bus. We spent 4 days preaching in Nairobi, then we went to Vukhaweka, Uganda. We came back home not for long, we were leaving in a few hours to go to Tanzania for 5 days preaching rally at pastors seminar and Grace Revival meetings.

We were blessed to be in Uganda, the town we went was such a nice place, surrounded by mountains and lots of jungle and banana palms. Bananas here are so sweet and this is one of the main dishes in Uganda – bananas. People use bananas for so many different dishes to cook. We really enjoyed nice hospitality in Uganda. It was so touching to see how hospitable people of Uganda are. They fed us with so many different African dishes, so it was lots of fun. It was also very humble to see how Ugandan women greeted us on their knees, so I had to kneel too and explained if it is like that according to their culture, so then it is like that according to my culture. They smiled a lot. Children also were very nice to us, willing to greet us and follow us wherever we went. We were just so blessed to visit that place.

In the morning we preached on the power of forgiveness and taught on how people are confused today about the forgiveness of sins. That instead of praising God that they are already forgiven 2000 years ago at the cross, they keep asking God for forgiveness everyday. Then I explained them if you ask God for forgiveness, then you are not forgiven at the first place. Obviously I gave lots of theology with the teaching, showing them from the Bible. They were so happy. Even the pastor from Nairobi who came with us to teach at the seminars refused to minister, but said that he would rather learn from us. It was really humble and genuine. It touched us so much.

Then, for the next few days I taught on God's Grace and Gospel of Grace. Also in the evening I preached Gospel at the Festival. Olga, my wife, was ministering to people at the field, few received new life in Christ. Then after I preached the Gospel of Grace and that Uganda is forgiven. About 50 people received Jesus. Few testified their healing.

Due to the short time preparation of the festival it was not a big crowd, about 500 people but they were so touched by God's Love.

The most exiting moment took place on the last day. After the morning meeting, local pastors invited us to the good-bye dinner. So we had to walk few kilometers up to the mountains. We walked together with about 9 local pastors and others were in the house, preparing the dinner. Most people went forth and I was walking with pastor Dingu behind. I asked him who was the boy by the road. It was exactly as in the "Book of Acts". Pastor told me: “He has been completely deaf for 10 years.” Due to that he was also not able to talk. My wife was besides me. I asked the pastor to bring the boy. I prayed for the mute spirit to leave. Checked him from the behind by talking, but he didn't repeat anything, he was completely deaf. I called my wife and 2 other pastors to pray, when I put finger in his ear and said "Go" to the deaf spirit, I realized that my loud voice hurt his ear. He told me that he began to hear for the first time in ten years. Jesus healed the boy. The power of God's Grace.

You can imagine how wild it was, people were amazed, children surrounded us and confirmed that he couldn't hear before. Then being amazed started asking him if he is hearing, so now he can hear the words and able to speak too. But he has to learn how to speak though. Pastors came out of the house and all the people being amazed looking at the boy hearing. What a joy. I took a moment and opportunity to uplift Jesus and Grace. I told pastors and people that it was not us who healed the boy, but it was what Jesus has already done. No impartation service, no revival meeting, no spiritual warfare, no prayer for revival, no seed sown into man of God. But just reliance on Jesus and His grace.

Here in Uganda as well as in many places around the world the idea of what we can do in order to please God or justify ourselves is so popular. So people exalt and propagate their religious rituals like spiritual warfare, prayer for revival, repentance meetings. All those things are focused on something what we can do in order to achieve something. But this is not the Gospel. It is a prognosis of things to happen if we are successful in our religious rituals. So, that is the ministry we are carrying in Africa, we are declaring what Jesus has already done and achieved for us despite of our religious works and imperfectness. The Gospel does miracles and faith in the Gospel of Jesus heals people.

We were so happy to know that when parents of the former deaf boy realized that he started hearing, they came to the Gospel festival and testified from the platform that Jesus has healed the boy. Though he was deaf, but is hearing today. Also, they were not believers in Jesus, but believed at that Gospel festival meeting. Praise the Lord. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. About 100 people received Jesus as Savior that time in Uganda.
