Slavic Missionary Bible School had its first Annual Banquet this Friday, March 11th. Two months of preparations which included; inviting local ministries, pastors, and other guests who where interested in contributing to a Slavic based ministry. This week was completely centered on this event and making sure that SMBS were ready to host the 150 people that gave their RSVP.

Those who now put their trust in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, are also ‘chosen’, as Israel was chosen. Jesus said you did not choose Me, but I chose you (John 15:16), and you shall be witnesses to Me (Acts 1:8). Jews are witnesses to the Lord (Jahveh or Jehovah), and Christians are witnesses to Christ, but both together become a sign of the times. Got it?
We read with wonder and joy what the Holy Spirit was in Bible days. He is the eternal Spirit, no different now than then. He is the essence of the Christian faith, brought to us by the gospel. There is no Christianity without him. He is the very substance of what we believe. He is God in action on earth. This means that Christianity is a supernatural faith. A non-supernatural gospel is only a shell.

Time at SMBS does not stand still. With activities everyday after school and new teachers every week the Students do not have time to look back. The teacher this week was Victor Voznyuk, who flew in from Ukraine to teach about Evangelism and Missions. With his bright personality the students grew to love him quickly.

Evangelism is God touching people’s lives through us and through our compassionate words and deeds. We are not charged to denounce, but to draw people to God. God calls people to repent because He loves them. The Holy Spirit responds to the WORD OF GOD, not just to prayer. The gospel is the Word of God. When that gospel is preached, the Holy Spirit performs what the Word says. How do I look at the four Gospels as an evangelist? They are God’s revelation of His Son Jesus. There is no book in the world like them. They don’t just give us the life story of Jesus. One thing the Bible is positive about - all prayer is heard, perfect or not. Why are prayers sometimes not answered? Some people ask “why does God allow suffering?” God does not ‘allow it’. Does the doctor allow sickness or the police allow crime? God is against sickness and the works of the devil. It is astounding to think that the God who created the whole world also created each one of us. What is more, He did not make us for ourselves, just so that we could be happy creatures, but for Himself, for His own glory. If we live for the glory of God we live in harmony with the purpose for which God made us. That means peace. We can only live like a Christian if we are a Christian. If we are only like a Christian we can keep it up only when everything is suitable. A woman is always a woman at the equator or the North Pole, and a Christian is always a Christian anywhere. God bless you.
The Bible-list of faith heroes in Hebrews 11 shows them as men and women of action. Action did not make them people of faith, but faith made them people of action. And so it is today. Action please.
The Holy Spirit is the dynamic of the faith. Without the life of the Holy Spirit, Christianity is just another lifeless religious system that can only be kept going by human effort. But nothing can compete with the Holy Spirit. We cannot do without the Holy Spirit no matter what we substitute, whether organization, church magnificence, prestige, education, or any other factor on which reliance has been placed. The Holy Spirit is God in action on earth.
My definition for anointing: Faith confirmed by the presence of the Holy Spirit in ones life.

Jesus said to the woman at the well “go and call your husband.” (John 4) Off she went and over-fulfilled her quota. We don’t know if she brought her husband, but she brought everybody else’s husband. When we begin to believe in the name of Jesus, we are not just "believers" -- we are re-positioned; it is a personality shift or transfer. We are placed INSIDE of what His name represents. The Bible says we have been placed into God’s family—this is most impacting. For a sinful person to become a child of God, a miraculous transformation will take place.
