Christians don’t argue about the Bible. They rely upon its own built-in proof. It is a messenger carrying adequate credentials. It is self-authenticating. “It lives and abides for ever”, said Peter (1Pet 1,23). It continues to exist because it is living truth, not because God has preserved it. Agreed?

Scriptures are with us today by virtue of being the "very words of God" (Rom. 3:2), not because the Church preserved them. The Bible preserved the Church. Living things don't need to be preserved; only dead things are placed in preserving fluids. God’s Word “lives and abides forever.” Blessed?

Science has had its say, and left us orphans in a Fatherless universe. Bible criticism has had its say, and left us adrift without chart or compass. And then - all of a sudden - a breakthrough. “Behold I stand at the door and knock...” (Rev. 3,20) Can you hear Him? It is Jesus, the Savior of the world, ready to do His wonderful work in you! Blessed?

Bible prophecies are not alterable. They are history written in advance! When the devil is out to trouble the world, God will trouble the devil. God will do what He said He would, even to the dot on the last "i." Hallelujah! We rejoice! We know! The future is settled beforehand, and the last hour is determined, with its very glorious conclusion. Praise God.

John 3:16 is perhaps the most well known verse in all the Bible…and rightly so. I am not tired of it…I wish the whole world knew it by heart. It captures the endless wealth of the entire Gospel message in one verse. I have been meditating on just the first statement of that verse today and what inexhaustible riches are there. “For God so loved the world that He gave…” To say, “I love you” is one thing. But to express love through tangible transaction…that is another thing altogether. Love...

The Bible is a success story. The idea of a Gospel which doesn’t make progress is the exact opposite to the Gospel we read of in the Word. The Bible sets before the church a plan for advance in the face of all opposition. Forward in the name of Jesus.

The Cross of Christ is the heart of the Gospel. It takes the entire Bible to explain it. All our teaching must relate to that like all the spokes and rim and tires of a wheel relate to the axis. Jesus is the center, the pivot. Everything else will fit into place around Jesus. Indeed the entire word of God revolves around Him. If Christ is not the hub the wheel will wobble and break.

The Bible is like a great curtain of embroidery. There are hundreds of threads, main threads, smaller threads, and they are woven together in a wonderful way by the Holy Spirit. The whole Bible is one great picture with a million points of interest. In fact it is a living picture, not just a dead scene, and it has endless interests. Make sure you read it. You will be blessed.

If we have no faith, reading the Bible produces it, and if we have some faith, we get more the same way. There’s no mystique about it. We are born believers, having faith every day in our doctors and bankers, in our spouses and bosses. Without this natural faith, we could not function. Faith is possible to everybody.

We read with wonder and joy what the Holy Spirit was in Bible days. He is the eternal Spirit, no different now than then. He is the essence of the Christian faith, brought to us by the gospel. There is no Christianity without him. He is the very substance of what we believe. He is God in action on earth. This means that Christianity is a supernatural faith. A non-supernatural gospel is only a shell.

Christian thinking is positive, but positive thinking is not always Christian. Negative thinking is never Christian, never Bible. The Gospel itself is God’s thought, which to human thinking is foolishness - yet it is the wisdom of God. By the Word we can have the mind of Christ. It challenges us to soar like the eagles to live in the dimension of faith.

Jesus loved the unloved and unlovely. It is so usual, so normal and so workaday for Him. He picks up with drab uninteresting people, living grey little lives and makes them special. In fact the whole Bible is full of it. God choosing the unlikely people, the youngest sons, the barren women, not many mighty, give the nameless a name, putting His arms around them and acknowledging them. Blessed?

March 25th & 26th This past weekend our SMBS students traveled to South Carolina and Georgia to visit three wonderful Slavic congregations. The students packed up their bags Saturday morning, and by 9:30 were on their way to Spartanburg, South Carolina. With eight hours on the road, the students had enough time to get to know each other better in such tight quarters. The trip was dotted with testimonies the students were able to share mighty things which God has been doing in their...

Missions! Missions! Missions! The previous week has been focused on mission’s preparation, mission’s groups, and mission’s fundraising. The students have finally received their missionary groups and locations that they will be going to. Most will be going in six to seven person teams. This has brought the realization that there is not much time left before everyone will be graduating and moving on to bigger things. We have 10 new groups of young missionaries ready to go into the...
